Goliath’s Bow

April 29, 2016

The Goliath Heron – a native of Sub-Saharan Africa – is the largest of the Heron Species and is of impressive size and colouring. A passive and predominantly stationery hunter (this guy literally stands and waits for fish to come). They are not very social creatures and prefer to fly solo. That is unless, of course, it is mating season; in which case they will pull out a few impressive moves to attract a mate.

Watch the Goliath Heron show off with his Graceful Bow.

Filmed by Ds. Fanie Naude, during his recent trip to the Kruger National Park
